Melkein valmis/Almost finished

Olohuone alkaa olla melkein sisustettu. Varmasti lisään vähitellen vielä jotain, mutta mitenkään suuria muutoksia se ei tarvitse.
Parvekkeen oven eteen tulee pieni matto, mutta se on vielä kesken.

The decoration of the living room is pretty much finished. I'm sure I will add some other things, but it won't need many changes. 
There will be a small carpet in front of the balcony door, but it's still unfinished.

So what's next?

Onko makuuhuoneen vuoro tai alanko tekemään parvekkeita? Niitä on nimittäin neljä ja lisäksi on kaksi terassia.
Mainittakoon vielä, että minulla on kaksi muutakin nukketaloa ja molemmassa olisi remonttimiehelle töitä.
Aikaa vaan ei riitä harrastuksiin. Ehkä pitäisi ottaa töistä vapaata...

Could it be time for the bedroom or shall I perhaps get to work with the balconies? After all, there are four of them and two terraces as well.
Not to mention that I have two other dollhouses and both of them are in need of some redecoration. 
There simply isn't enough time for hobbies. Perhaps I should take some time off from work...

Lipasto/Drawer

Nyt on olohuoneen ennestään tyhjässä nurkassa uusi lipasto, olisiko IKEAsta hankittu. Olisin halunnut laittaa siihen kohtaan lattiavalaisimen, mutta en löytänyt sopivaa enkä luottanut siihen, että osaisin tehdä itse.
Pöytälamppu lipaston päällä on Minimum World-nettikaupasta ja musta maljakko Elf Miniatures-sivujen kautta.
Oksat ruukussa ovat oikeaa sammalta.

Now there is a new drawer (in IKEA-style) in the previously empty corner of the living room. I would have liked to put a floor lamp in that corner, but couldn't find one that would have fit there.
The table lamp on top of the drawer is from Minimum World and the black vase is from Elf Miniatures.
The twigs in the pot are made of real moss.

Maalauksia/Paintings

Etsin nukkekodin olohuoneeseen isoa, huoneen väreihin sointuvaa taulua.  Kaikenlaisia kuvia löysin, mutta ne muistuttivat enemmän julisteita kuin öljyväritauluja.
Piti siis  alkaa itse taiteilijaksi tai oikeastaan tarina voisi kulkea näin:
 Talon alakerrassa on taidemaalari Hugon työtila. Pyydetään Hugo maalaamaan sopiva taulu!

I'd like to have a large painting in the living room, one that would suit the colours of the room. I found all sorts of pictures, but they were more like posters than paintings.
Therefore, I had to be the painter myself, or, in fact, maybe the story should continue like this:
 Hugo the painter's workspace is downstairs, so let's ask Hugo to paint a fitting painting!

Canvaspohja saatiin pohjustamalla pala pellavakangasta valkoisella maalilla, paksumpi puuvillakangaskin käy. Sitten vain sivellin suihkimaan!
Syntyi kolme taulua. Taulut on maalattu akryyliväreillä.

I made the canvas by priming a piece of linen fabric with white paint, a thicker kind of cotton fabric would work just as well. Then it's time to for the brush to do its work!
And so three paintings were created with acrylic paint.

Hugo lahjoitti anteliaasti isoimman taulun olohuoneen koristeeksi.

Hugo graciously donated biggest of them to be used as a decoration in the living room.

Kahden muun taulun paikkaa hän vielä miettii.

He is still considering the placement of the others.

Jotain uutta/Something new

Askartelin olohuoneeseen pienen tarjoilupöydän. Helmistä syntyi kätevästi jälkiruokamaljoja.

There are some minor changes in the living room. I have made a small serving table. I found the small beads just right for dessert bowls.

Matto on leikattu mokkanahkapalasta ja kiva tuoli sekä lasimaljakko ovat nettiostoksia Elf Miniatures sivuilta.

I cut the carpet from a piece of suede and I bought the beautiful armchair and the vase from Elf Miniatures.

Ihan kuin vielä jotain puuttuisi. Peili, taulut, viherkasveja?

What else does the room need? A mirror, paintings, plants?

Sohvapöytä/Sofa Table

Sohvapöydän materiaalina on pahvi ja metallinen lasinalusta.
Kynttilät ovat Fimosta ja pikkuiset simpukankuoret matkoilta kerättyjä.

The sofa table is made from cardboard and a metal glass coaster. 
The candles are from polymer clay.

Tyynyjä/Pillows

Sohvalla on nyt paljon tyynyjä ja kun kaipaa uutta ilmettä, niitä voi mielialan mukaan vaihtaa.
Olen täyttänyt tyynyt suolalla, näin ne painuvat vähän kuopalle ja näyttävät luonnollisemmalta.

There are lots of pillows on the sofa now and they can be changed freely.
I have filled the pillows with salt so that they get a little creased, making them look more realistic.
